My brother lives back east and was telling me about some of the traditional haunts he visits in Pennsylvania and New York around Halloween. One of them is the very famous
Crypt Crawls: A Halloween Tour!
"Shake your spirits loose this Halloween! Creep into the Cathedral's crypt, hear the stories of the entombed, and learn the origins of Halloween as the Celtic New Year celebration and later transformation into All Hallows Eve."
Joe said that after you crawl through the crypts you come out into a grand room in the midst of fog and find ghoulish masked character puppets flying around. He says, "It's all very cool and creepy."
The traditions around my house are not quite so cool and creepy but oh so much fun!
We love to share Halloween treats with our neighbors and friends on Halloween.
Tonight is the night for the
Doorbell Ditch Halloween Blitz!
My kids love to spook our neighbors by leaving ghostly goodies on the doorstep. We run through the streets in the moonlight, drop goodies at the door, ring the doorbell, (giggle ALOT) and then off to the next unsuspecting door step. We must complete this partying prank in under 30 minutes.
How can this not be fun!
This year the ghostly goody happens to be disguised in a Halloween Pop Top.
Idea inspired by Best Bites Tin Can Treats
Start by creating a label.

Follow the directions given by Best Bites. I used an 8 1/2 oz. fruit can and it was perfect. You can also re-size the label to fit larger cans. Just make sure they are pop top cans. Best Bites suggested using tissue paper, I've also used paper crimps and they work great.
Have a THRILLING, SPINE CHILLING, WICKEDLY GREAT HALLOWEEN!
...and be safe. (I'm a mom, I get to say that!)
