"Taco 'Bout Awesome!" Primary Board Meeting and The Bomb Salad!

I made these cute Salsa favors for our fabulous Primary Teachers at our Tres De Mayo Fiesta Board Meeting! I found this cute invitation on Pinterest and made it my own. 

The Jars were very easy to make. I just found this cute fabric at JoAnn's. Cut in 1" strips and frayed the edges by pulling a few threads.

 Cut these cute Mustaches out on my Silhouette. I think that stickers would work too!

 Used my glue gun to get everything in place!

 I found this tag on Pinterest as well! I used full sheet sticker paper and used my circle punch and placed them on the lid. 

 We had Taco's, Chips and Salsa and this amazing salad called "The Bomb Salad" - I got it from my friend Heidi who got it from our friend Karrissa. It's a total crowd pleaser and the dressing is delicious on your tacos too!

The Bomb Salad

Large Bag Coleslaw Mix (we get the big bag from smart and final)
Cherry tomatoes
Cojita Cheese, graded
Chili lime Pepita seeds (found in the bulk section at Winco)
Tortilla strips Salad Toppers

Dressing:
1 cup Mayo
1 cup Buttermilk
1 lime, juiced
1-2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup green salsa
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp salt
1 tsp pepper
1 tsp accent seasoning
1 bunch cilantro
Blend all in blender or food processor.

I'm in the primary presidency in my church and this year we wanted to thank the wonderful teachers who teach these cute littles every week. I wanted to make sure we recognize them with a small token every month. I searched the web and came up with some fun ideas to get me started. They were all pretty quick, easy and inexpensive to make. 

I found these cute flamingo pens at the Dollar Tree and made this tag to go with it.

These sticky note tags were found here and so easy. Just print, cut out and stick with double sided tape to the top of a sticky pad!

I hope this gives you some ideas of gifts you can give to your primary teachers!

CTR (Choose the Right) Primary Ornament Tutorial

The Primary theme for 2017 is Choose the Right. For our presidency gifts we decided to make these cute ornaments and give them to the primary children as well as a Christmas CD of songs for next year. They turned out darling and were suprisingly quick and easy to make. 

You begin by getting clear ornaments. I got plastic ones (becuase......primary children) at a doorbuster at Michaels. 25 for $8! You squeeze acrylic paint into the ornament and place a piece of duck tape over the opening and start shaking!

 Keep shaking until the whole ornament is colored. 

 The place in cups to dry. This will take a day or two. 

 Once dry, replace the top to the ornament. I used my silhouette to cut out the vinyl. I was going to do the CTR Shield around it, but because the ornament is curved I couldnt get it to go on straight.

Didnt they turn out cute!

Primary "Drive-In" Activity

We had a really fun Primary Activity at church recently. One of our teachers had given me this idea and I pitched it to the counselor over this activity and she thought it sounded great too! Off we went...

To start off, I checked Pinterest for ideas to make cardboard cars and there were TONS of fun ideas. I let the primary families know about a month ahead of time and sent out an e-mail with some photos so they had PLENTY of time to help their kids make the cars at home. 

I was in charge of the concessions area. I have been in charge many times before, for the school plays. I used my candy machine that my handy husband made for me for Willy Wonka years ago. It's been stuffed behind one of my kids beds for years that I almost forgot about it! It takes a lot of candy to fill, but it is so fun. 

I printed a free "concessions" banner I found on-line added a few striped tablecloths and popcorn machine and we were in buisness! 

 My co-planner, Janay and her husband, Mel built this AMAZING Car Wash for the kids to drive their cars through. It was so fun! 

We have a projector, so we projected the movie up onto the wall. We piped the sound into the speakers so it was nice and loud. The kids sat through the whole thing! I think the fact that the sound was pretty loud helped because they felt they were in a theater. We also turned most of the lights off. 

It was a very succesful party that required some of pre-planning and set-up but was so easy during. We just sat with the kids, re-filled some candy and popcorn and enjoyed the movie!
